BioRob Group: Expertise

The expertise of this interdisciplinary research team ranges from bioengineering,

cognitive systems, psychology, to robotics and signal processing.

The focus is the study and the development of mobile intelligent robotic systems, able

to intervene in real environments and to interact with humans; these systems display

earning and problem solving capabilities simulating and imitating biological systems.

The fields of application of these systems range from the service robotics

(indoor / outdoor) to medical and bio robotics.

Application examples are: service robots for surveillance/security tasks in unstructured or

low structured environments; socially assistive robots; diagnostic and therapeutic

systems; technologies for studying biological systems; development of engineered tissues.
